ANTI-RACIST EDUCATION: SOCIAL AND EDUCATIONAL TRANSFORMATION IN DIFFERENT CONTEXT

Abstract

This article focuses on the analysis of research activities, bibliographic productions, educational actions at different levels of education and training of teachers and school managers promoted by the Center for Investigation and Social and Educational Action (NIASE), at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), from the Anti-racist Education axis. It seeks to understand the actions of the axis in the possibility of overcoming social, cultural, ethnic and racial inequalities, in strengthening identities and valuing diversity in a perspective of equality of differences. The study fits into the qualitative approach and the communicative methodology that seeks to cross scientific data on the bibliographic productions concerning the theme and the actions that have been developed over the last 20 years. The results indicate the existence of productions of impact and scientific relevance, they present theoretical and conceptual reviews, evidence of educational and social transformation actions from learning communities, successful educational activities (SES) and teacher training. It also reveals the need to offer systematic training on anti-racist education.
